Baltic Centre for Contemporary ArtNew Baltic Shop
Kit Grover’s first shop at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead opened in 2006. In 2018 we have designed a new interior in the same location to coincide with the Great Exhibition of the North.
Reinterpreted industrial workbench furniture has been constructed as modular units in oak, glass and laminate. The units can be reconfigured whenever the shop needs a refresh.
The room is wrapped with Revolver shelving, designed by Henny van Nistelrooy for Lensvelt. In steel and oak the system allows an easy transition from vertical to horizontal display.
A new lighting scheme connects the main entrance to the shop, accentuating the size and shape of the space.
